reasons why this weekend was awesome, or in other words, a detailed list of what the skinners did the last four days {minus pictures}:
FRIDAY
*cleaned the whole house {almost! sorry floor, i will mop you soon.},but you would never guess by the look of it now
*laundry done - all 8 loads washed and sorted. if only it was all put away...
*my mom and mark came down for the weekend. {for a college reunion but we pretended it was for us}
*dinner at cheesecake factory with kamber, mom and mark, and dan and i, no kids. it was wonderful to eat in peace.
*the red velvet cheesecake i ate for dessert deserves it's own bullet.
*played a new game - five crowns. fun, but i was awful.
*discovered that although i am average at bowling on the Wii, i make up for it with archery.
SATURDAY
*trip to the temple - always a good thing.
*checked out our local ranch market on the way home. it was awesome and seemed more authentic than the grocery store we go to in mexico. we left with fresh tortillas and tostada shells and i will be going back for their freshly roasted green chiles in the near future.
*the girls slept, dan watched the cardinals game, i read. for hours. it was great.
*attended the baby blessing of my newest little cousin, hunter. i have aunts and uncles still having kids and it makes the whole different generation thing more complicated but i love it. he's adorable.
*saw aunts, uncles, and cousins from near and far - wish it would happen more often!
SUNDAY
*made it on time to church. this is a big deal so i'm going to type it again. we made it on time to church! we were early by a couple minutes. i didn't know what to do with myself once we sat down. j/k. kind of.
*my mom and mark came to church with us which meant the kids sat on their laps so dan and i actually got to listen. {my mom took grace - who never stops moving- out during sunday school and mark had her during priesthood.}
*yummy lunch with those tostada shells. thank you ranch market.
*girl's nap time = more NFL play off games for dan and more reading for me. to each our own. :) {thats a saying right?}
*poor little gracie came down with a stomach bug or food poisoning or something yucky - all evening and into the night. not awesome. we canceled all the plans we had to go out and be with family sunday night. since grace was sick, we popped in a new movie from christmas and watched it together - chitty chitty bang bang. it was fun to cuddle up on the floor and couch {between grace's heaving} and just be. grace sat in my lap for hours, poor girl, but it was wonderful to snuggle with her since she usually never holds still. though we would have loved to be with extended family, it was kind of perfect to have a reason to lay low. sometimes i feel like we are going five different directions so having one long, uninterrupted evening was wonderful and it ended up being one of my favorite parts of the weekend {except grace being sick, but she was a trooper and feels great now}.
MONDAY
*we were lazy and just stayed indoors because it was drizzling off and on
*dinner at skinners {papa johns pizza - yummmmm}
*riveting game of bingo with madison as the announcer. it helped us fine tune our interpreting skills as she yelled the letters and numbers while eating a sucker.
*and finally everyone went to bed, girls and dan by 9:30, which left me hours to finish reading my book.
awesome.

so what book are you reading that is so good... or do you have any other suggestions? I need to read a good book!
it's a trilogy and the books are called city of bones, city of ashes, and city of glass. they are different than anything i've read before- kind of sci fi, but i enjoyed them. the author of the twilight series said good things about them.
marie! i almost read those in mexico (which by the way, when are you going to blog about that??) ha and grandma didn't have the first one. is it good?
Glad you had such a fun weekend! Good news...Isabel's fever is gone. She's still coughing, but I'm assuming by Fri. she'll be over it enough to not be contagious. :) Remind me to email you the address...
