Today Is Dallin's Birthday

he would be 26.
and i miss him every single day.

we've kind of made it a tradition to celebrate dallin and my dad's lives by doing things they loved on their birthday.  my mom made a list of things that dallin enjoyed or that remind us of him.  feel free to join us in remembering him, but more importantly, in enjoying and celebrating this life we've been given, just like dallin would be doing if he were here.

Ways to remember Dallin:
-have a Pina Colada or Purple cow
-serve someone/reach out to someone who needs a friend/remember someone
-play a game (like Rummikub or Crazy Rook)
-throw a frisbee
-tell someone a story and don't leave out ANY details
-volunteer at the Happy Factory, or, volunteer somewhere else
-listen to cello music, or, listen to the song Pachelbel's Canon
-say "I love you" and hug someone (but not awkwardly!)
-watch Nacho Libre or Finding Nemo
-attend the Temple
-eat Hawaiian Haystacks
-make a sandwich with everything on it, especially red onions
-think about him, look at pictures of him
-SMILE!

when i think about how much Dallin accomplished and how he influenced so many people in the 23 years he was on the earth, i am humbled.  he was an incredible friend and brother and example.  i am grateful we can be together after this life, reunited as a family.  i like to think he's cheering me on - "come on marie, you can do it!"

Dallin - We miss and love you.  Happy Birthday. Love, Your Sister

We didn't know Dallin well, but I think often of the funeral and all of the wonderful things that were said about him. He seemed pretty amazing.

I also remember the few times I did interact with him and he always seemed so positive and genuinely happy.

Good traits to emulate! Hope you guys have a happy day celebrating your brother.

Happy Birthday Dallin! Jared & I were just talking about how it was his birthday today. We sure miss him, he was the best friend Jared could ask for.
It is fun to remember the stories he would tell, and how he wouldn't leave out any detail. They were long, but he did know how to keep us interested.

Happy Birthday Dallin!

Dallin loved everyone, and everyone (especially the moms) loved him because he always thought the best of people. Honestly, I don't know anyone who was better at looking at the good in people than him. He really was the sweetest guy.
Marie, hope you guys are doing well. Your example just shows how much you and Dallin are alike. Life is so short some times, makes you want to hold the ones you still have a little bit tighter.

Yes, every story had every detail! They were always entertaining, especially the facial expressions, had gestures, and what Dallin was thinking when everything was happening. I think about him often and what a wonderful example he is. I hope to raise boys like him and daughters like you. It's nice to remember the life that was lived, and the love that was shared.

Tonight we're going over to play with some friends and making frozen drinks and playing games. I will definitely drink a pina colada and play Rook and think of Dallin.
