Thoughts on Baby Boy Bedding

our house is dominated by pink.  pink clothes, pink toys, and pink bedding - i think it will be nice to throw some blue into the mix.  i just haven't been able to get excited about dinosaurs, trucks and trains, jungle animals, or any of the other boyish themes i've seen.  after searching high and low i decided a couple months ago on THIS bedding from target.  this set would be simple enough for a new baby and still look cute as toddler bedding down the road, plus allow some flexibility and versatility in decorating the rest of the room. perfect, right?

well i went to finally order it online yesterday so we can start getting things decorated and ready for when this little guys comes, only to find out it's "not available".  bummer!  after calling for more information i was informed there is a chance it will be stocked again.  hmmm, now the waiting game begins.

for now i'll hunt for a back up.  THIS is another option at target, same pattern but different colors, though i would probably choose something with more blue.

what are your thoughts? favorite (cheap) bedding lines?  boy themes and decor you like?  somewhere along the lines of simple, cheap, and easy....  we just have 11 weeks to go!

**pictures of our finished girl's room coming soon!!

I have followed your blog quietly for a long time. I enjoy your blog. Try Overstock.com They have tons of bedding. Also try Pottery Barn clearane online. That is where I purchased part of my daughter-in-laws choice for our grandaughter. I finished it up by searching Ebay and got everything for a steal. I recently purchased bedding at Target on clearance for $12 for our new grandson.

I really like the brown, blue and green bedding. For some reason the Dwell stuff is hard to get from Target. I ordered a Dwell crib and eventually had to find a different one because it was back-ordered for so long. I'm not a fan of the "boy themes" either so I didn't do one at all. I have added a few little boyish things here and there (sports, trucks, etc.)

I really like the brown, blue and green one. We've always stuck with pretty neutral themes. We had brown/tan carseats for the twins, brown/yellow/green bedding for the crib, and brown/tan bouncers, boosters, and pack-and-play. They do have designated PINK blankets. Ewan has a brown and white blanket that he can't sleep without. For this next one, depending on what the baby comes out as, we'll probably go with a brown/blue or brown/pink blanket and leave the same bedding in the crib. Good luck! I hope you find one that works.

Not too fond of the same pattern in the other color. The blue/brown/green one is super cute.

Congratulations on having a boy! I would offer my advice, but you wouldn't want to take it, so I won't. Haha. You'll love having a boy. They're lots of fun!

I suppose I'm the only one but you know me and bright colors, I LOVE that second fun colorful set! :) But just wait it out, you'll eventually find something you love AND it will be in stock! :) Love you!

I think the dwell space set and traffic set are cute. I bought fabric I liked and made a cover for a bumper pad i already had and bought simple coordinating sheets and a solid colored blanket. Good luck!
