Ya - Ya

that means pacifier at our house ('ya' as in ya-rd). thats what my dad called them, ever since chris was little, and we think it's a fun way to remember him. it makes me smile every time madison says it and believe me, she says it a lot!

just in case you haven't noticed in our pictures, madison's pacifier is never too far away. i am a total fan of the things. but she had one in her mouth almost the entire time we were in california and instead of a power struggle, we just let her have it. well, she turns 2 next week and i'm starting to wean her off them. now madison only has a pacifier when she gets in bed to go to sleep.

how has she handled it?

she loves going to bed! she has always been great at going to sleep but man she gets so excited! yesterday i got her down from the table after lunch and she said, "bed.... ya-ya.." and ran to her room, pulled off her socks and shoes and climbed in bed.... without any prompting from me.

if this continues, she can have her ya-ya all the way through high school ... i won't care one bit!

she is so darn cute! that is a great way to remember your dad. i'm sure you are constantly thinking about things that you do that because of your dad is the reason you do them the way you do!!!

Oh man, we're going to be dealing with that pretty quick. Hannah loves her bink!

You'll have to let me know how it goes when you finally get rid of it for good.

The camera I use is a Pentax K100D, it is a basic digital SLR and I've really enjoyed it.

Madi is so cute! I remember Em Loving her pacifier. After widdling it down to bed time only, we finally snipped off the nipple and gave it to her one night. She held it all night, never upset, but realized it was broken and never cared about it again. I was astonished!

I, too, love pacifiers. Liah gave hers up at 9 months (a sad, sad day at the Larsen household).

If its working, why change it?

I'm glad the little reminders are making you happy instead of sad. You guys are so strong.

Your girls are so cute. Good luck with the pacifier. I fought Cambree with hers and then one day she decided to throw them all in trash can. It worked great.

Alayna only gets her binky at night or at naptime - and she is so good about laying down too - it is so nice, it will be awhile before I have the heart to take it away because she loves it so much! Madison is so cute - you have such a cute family!

Marie,
We love looking at your blog and your cute family! As we all know, the Ellsworth family is amazing. I visited with your mom yesterday. The strength, spirit, testimony, faith and perserverance you each have is incredible. But I wouldn't expect ANYTHING less from an Ellsworth. Your parents and your entire family have been a true Christlike example to our family for the past 18 years! We love you all!!! You all continue to be in our prayers. I know your dad and Dallin are smiling down upon each of you and your reunion with them will be a joyous day above all others. Until then, do it the Ellsworth way...following and trusting in the Savior and His gospel just like your entire family has always done. Love you all!
